Ibooks Apple Pencil Notes

Does the pencil allow to take hand written notes in ibooks.

Ibooks apple pencil notes. I read books in both kindle and ibooks but neither can support writing in the margins or underlining with the apple pencil in a natural way. Tap on it to see the option for the thickness of the nib and the transparency. I can do it in goodnotes if i open a pdf but that only works for a portion of my books and i keep wondering how hard is it to put a layer on top of the books.
