Make Bookmark With Pressed Flowers

Cut two pieces of contact paper each 6 inches by 2 1 2 inches.

Make bookmark with pressed flowers. It is time to let your creativity shine. Place your leaves petals and such between two tissues within the pages of a phone book. You can trim later.

If you are making the bookmarks during lockdown you may want to add the date or a made during lockdown 2020 note to the card to record this moment in history. The first step is to look at your pressed flowers and or leaves and design your bookmark. Once your bookmark is completely dry tie in some colorful ribbons or charms at its upper end for a striking finish.

Once you re done gluing all the pressed flowers in your design avoid moving any of the flowers that had already been glued and let it sit and dry for a couple of minutes or up to an hour or so. Position the paper backing and leaf on the film and carefully fold the film over to cover the them. Cut a rectangle of card about 17 x 4cm and arrange your flowers on the card.

Put a second piece of release paper on top with the silicon surface facing down. Remove the backing and place it on a surface with the sticky side up. Press your flowers and leaves by placing them inside the pages of a thick book for 3 4 days.

Add in ribbons and charms. Making a pressed flower bookmark remove the flowers from between the pages of the book and carefully take off the top piece of paper to reveal the pressed flowers. Open up a piece of laminating film and place it on the release paper with the white coating facing up.

You can do this on your work surface or directly into your laminator pouch. For a clear bookmark write your words on colored paper and stick it onto the bottom portion below the petals. After 2 3 weeks carefully remove tissue to reveal pressed leaves.
